i know
its been almost a month
and considering how much we are sleeping this thing should get updated daily
heres the readers digest version of whats been going on
elizabeth got transfered to dell childrens hospital last sunday
had lung surgery (for her partially immobile diaphram)
which at least from a surgical standpoint worked.
shes not extubated yet
but soon
like 24 hours soon
which will be awesome
cuz it will be the first time since
oh
i dont know
the 4th day of her life that she hasnt had a tube down her throat
she has a long way to catch up to her sister
developmentally
so even if this trial extubation works
we are still looking at maybe 6 more weeks of her being in the hospital
shes back up to full feeds
seems to be bouncing back from the surgery
i havent seen her in a week
and i miss the little girl…
amelia is packing on the pounds as you can see
her eyes still work
she can hear (w00t!)
out of the 80+ gb of music i have
she prefers death metal over anything else ive played for her
so ive been playing lots of death metal
this is how i know she is definately my kid
we’ve got weekly eye appointments for her
her right eye ROP doesnt seem to be getting better
(but not worse either)
so hopefully she wont have to go back into the hospital to get lasered
there
now im going to take a nap

Finally, i got to hold both of my girls at the same time. It has been 13 weeks since the three of us have been together. i loved every second of it.
