it just gets better and better
after the surgical consult yesterday
[or was it last night… i forget]
things were decided

and here there are

amelia still has yet to present with definitive signs of NEC
in other words her bowels have no holes in them
which is apparently the only way to know for sure…

a good sign
i guess
so shes been in contact isolation for 48 hours
and nothings happened… yet

it was also decided
based on the opposing opinions of the surgeons
after her contrast enema
to move elizabeth to brakenridge for observation
so now we have to go to two seperate locations to see our children

the two theories as to what this might be are:

  1. that her obstruction is nothing more than mucous plugs and after the contrast enema it should take care of itself.
  1. that she has a disease and i dont remember the name of, in which cells in her intestines are spasming causing the blockage. its a two step process that involves a biopsy and then surgery.

i’m all for the just in case
but
i wish that my kids didn’t have to take the hard way
ALL THE TIME
i keep telling them
they don’t have to impress me…

but they dont listen obviously

i REALLY want to break something
a whole lot of something

instead
i shaved my head
i figured… that at this point
its either gonna fall out on its own
or im gonna rip it all out
